The presidents Barbeque

Last monday they had the Presidents Barbeque at Thousand Hills State Park. It is a beautiful park surrounding a Gorgeous lake. They took us on little Pontoon Boats and had a get to know you better Barbeque. It was a fun night in a really pretty place! (I think they are trying to sell us on this Missouri thing quick by showing us all the prettiest places!)
They had a swing set and George as always loved the "Diaper swings!"
Check out the video below to see just how much he loves it!

White Coat Ceremony....

On Saturday we had Jeds white coat ceremony. It wasn't until then that he said he actually got the butterflies and realized this is becoming real. We have talked about it and prayed about it for so long it is crazy it is really here! Everything about this decision feels so right. Even though our hearts belong in Utah we really feel like Kirsksville is so right for us. We feel extremely blessed to be here and feel totally at peace with where we are living and the school he decided to go to! Don't get me wrong there are times we long to come home, but we know that ultimately we are in the right place for us.. So in honor of the beginning of our new lives as poor, busy, studying lives we went to the white coat ceremony!
I am so proud of Jed and for his decision to go to medical school. I know it was not an easy decision for him to make but he knew it was the right one and he followed through with that. It took a lot of courage for this little farm boy from payson to do, but I know he will do great and that it will be a great experience for our family.
Jed is such a goof sometimes and is never afraid to be who he is. So as everyone went on stage for introductions he said grease monkey, oops technology management.. Everyone laughed, I was a little shocked hence the not clear picture! As he went to shake the deans hand the dean said something like now I know who to come to! Everyone that day remembered him and kept saying they are glad he lightened the mood. Leave it to Jed to do that! He is always doing that around our home too!

ON TO THE JOURNEY....

to help describe our drive to missouri...

It was pretty crappy... no pun intended! The first time it was worth a picture for memory sake, the second time not so funny, and the next few times not funny at all. It is not fun traveling with a little one with the flu. He really was amazing the entire drive, but the poor guy was not feeling great, nor was his mom or dad! Luckily we had my mom and dad driving out there with us because we honestly could not have done it without them. Three outfits later I decided not to change anymore and just let myself be covered in my childs throwup and poo. I was ready to do anything just to get there! My mom and dad did my the drive so fun and it was so nice to not have to say good bye to everyone at once. My poor mom got the flu the next day and still continued moving us in. They headed to Kansas Tuesday night and we were so grateful for their help and sacrifice to come out here with us. Couldn't have made it without them!

Good friends...

Little buddies nine days apart!

Good Friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget!

Ali was one of the great things that I was blessed with in Palmyra. She was kind of the two in one package... a friend for me, and a friend for George! Honestly I am not sure what I would have done without her in Palmyra. We became mothers together, and friends for life! She truly was such a great friend! The week we were moving was a stressful one for me emotionally, physically, and my house was in complete choas. While I took the day off without my knowing she broke into my house and did something I will never forget. She cleaned my house High and Low. Scrubbed my bathrooms, the kitchen, the whole works. She knew I had been wanting to do it, and thought it would be a great gift to me. and that it was! At first I was so embarrassed but it didnt take long for the tears to come then I realized truly what a friend she was to me. She truly has rescued me over and over again and she never even knew it ! Then to my complete surprise she sent a beautiful boquet of flowers to our door in Missouri. She went above an beyond! I am so grateful I found her and for the friend she has been to me!

Goodbyes... or see ya laters!

After an adventurous last few weeks we finally got on the road. Unfortunately George and I both catch the flu in the midst of all the goodbyes. I spent all evening throwing up and George likewise. Never had I ever seen my little one so sick and it broke my heart. He was throwing up over and over again, and after talking with the nurses on the phone we decided it was time to take him to the emergency room. I hesitated for new insurance purposes but decided oh well and headed anyways. By the time we got to the hospital George was totally lethargic and could not even stay awake. After an IV, some flu medicine he was perkin right back up. We headed back to bed at about 3 am, meanwhile we still both had the bug. Sunday we spent recovering until about 2, and headed up to my parents to have our last Sunday dinner with my family, and Ali and Evan were nice enough to come too! Goodbyes were by no means easy, but it did help that everyone was feeling crumby! Ali headed home with the flu.. poor thing, and we headed off with the flu.
Loaded up and ready to go!

Some things we just could not leave behind... ha

BYE BYE PRETTY HOUSE....

As a little girl I remember my mom always saying as she pulled away from our house.. bye bye pretty house! My mom literally said it every single time we pulled away. I loved it and it always reminded me how blessed I was to live in our home! but It wasn't until I lived at the Palmyra house that I realized what she felt when she said bye bye pretty house. I found myself saying that sometimes as I left too! (usually after we had mowed the lawn, and pulled the weeds) Needless to say we absolutely loved our house in Palmyra and felt so blessed to live there. We CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK! ha ha

Packing Day....

How was all of this....

Going to fit in this?

it all did with Jed and my dad expertly using every little nook and cranny in that old Penske truck, the back of Jeds truck, and his four wheeler trailer... Should have known the smallest truck wouldn't fit all our stuff! But it all worked out and ended up fitting!

Ali was a lifesaver once again and brought littleAli was a lifesaver once again and brought little ev over to play with George.. all george needed was a bit of attention, and then we ordered our favorite at JAXIES! ev to play with George.. all george needed was a bit of attention, and then we ordered our favorite at JAXIES! They were too cute together... they were starting to really enjoy playing together..
It was a long day.. and even the dogs were exhausted!

A Day at Seven Peaks...

One thing I had been wanting to do all summer was go to seven peaks! I called up my sisters and they all said they would come. It was such a fun day... George absolutely loved the water and did not cry once. All the grandkids were there which made it extra fun for me! Me and becky, krissy, and lacey all braved the boomerang slide. I am such a woos that at the top I wanted to turn around and walk back down. But I knew that would look way too woosy! Thanks for going with me it was such a fun day!
George did squeeze in a little cat nap...
Cute Judson was worn out!
I was so proud of little preston for going down the slide all by himself! He was a little water dog!
George was fascinated by these little fountains. It literally had him entertained for quite some time!

The true signs of good day in the water.... wrinkly little toes!
George loved the day at seven peaks and so did I!

Fishing at the Ranch after the windrivers...

After we hiked out of the windrivers, we headed back to the ranch to stay the night before we left. The boys were knocking them dead down at the green so George and I thought we would go give it a try. I caught nothing... I was kindof bummed. I have thought about this lately why I used to always catch everything so good.. frogs, lizards, fish, etc. and why I can't catch anything lately. I realized it was just that my dad was the good catcher and I was always with him so I would always take just a little bit of credit. Jed though made some great catches although I could not find the picture of his huge 21 inch brown trout. Fisherman tales are not told here... Picture will be coming soon! George and I trying to catch something other than a snag!
Jed with his big white fish....
Judd showing off his big rainbow trout.

and kevin showing off his little fish... He actually caught some big ones too, we just didn't have the camera with us for those!

A back packing trip in the Windrivers...

After the ranch trip over the 24th as if we have not had enough playing for the summer we headed up to the Windrivers with my dad and Jim, judd, and kevin! It was absolutely beautiful and fun to introduce George to the windrivers. There were lots of mosquitos, lots of rain, but it was still such a blast being up in the beautiful mountains! Here are a few pictures of the pack trip in.....

George was seriously a trouper! He definately proved to us that he is old enough to go back :)! He seriously slept for like six hours straight... lets just say that was more than he has in his whole life! If only I had a horse like crib to keep him asleep!
One of my favorite part of the windrivers was the beautiful lilly ponds!

The fishing was not great... but proof that there was a little bit of catching going on!
Part of the pack train!
checking out the maps!
Pack train!
the mosquitos were out... PROOF that George was really a trooper!

Jed and George on the horse!

I was in charge of leading perdy!
So glad this handsome man was our wrangler for the trip! Don't worry... George was wrapped in that big old coat staying out of the rain!
It was such a fun and quick trip. We just stayed overnight and headed out the next day! It was fun and brought back alot of old memories from the windrivers with all my siblings!
